A few years ago I applied for a job at AIPAC. The interview process was the toughest I’ve ever been through and I’ve been in some very tough and competitive job interview situations. The thing that was mentioned the most? That they never give money to candidates, endorse candidates, or otherwise promote any campaign. That’s not what they do. Their mission is to meet with people on both sides of the aisle to promote pro-Israel policies. Not only is it Constitutionally protected, but they aren’t nearly as well funded as dozens and dozens of other groups. The liberal J Street does give money to candidates and they donate to democrats exclusively. So Ilhan Omar and others are lying to you when they tell you that big bad AIPAC is “buying” candidates.
