Texas Man Killed in Terror Attack in Israel

Taylor Force, 29, of Lubbock, who more recently lived in Nashville, Tennessee, was killed in Tel Aviv during a terror attack.  The Times of Israel reported the attack and Vanderbilt University confirmed Force's death in a written statement.

I don't think people understand what a 30.06 sign means. It means that if the bad guys show up and start shooting, you wait for the cops to show up, they decided on their own to stop shooting or everyone is dead.
I'm not a fan of those odds. It's just not logical.

How Open Carry Forced Businesses In Texas To Take A Side In The Culture War - Texas Monthly

Open carry businesses or not, the new law has forced Texas to take a side.

I personally don't understand why individuals feel the need to open carry. What people don't seem to understand is the license to carry, whether open or concealed, is the same. The process to obtain a license is extensive in Texas. The class cost several hundred dollars, requires a written and gun proficiency test (can you safely handle a firearm?), an application requiring a picture, fingerprinting and several months waiting period while they do extensive background checks.
Also, if someone chooses to open carry, they are required to use a certain type of holster, the gun can't be just tucked into their pants.
Police can also ask anyone open carrying to see their license.
My point is.... Most individuals with carry licenses are the most responsible citizens you might meet. Actually seeing the guns should make no difference.
