I have no respect, AT ALL, for the ADL - but the data is the data. I also don't believe that the "number" of Americans who believe antisemitic stereotypes has drastically risen, I think that most of these people already believed in the stereotypes, but feel much more comfortable publicly admitting it, which is, in some ways, far worse. The reason that being a Jew hater is so much more acceptable is that the left is race obsessed (even thought they laughably deny it), but consider Jews "white." So when it was good to be white, we weren't white (ask the Nazis), but now that being white is "bad," they deem us white, and apply every (imaginary) egregious facet of "whiteness" to Jews (and often greatly magnify those negative qualities).

Either way, there is ZERO doubt that antisemitism in America is drastically more common than anyone believed before.

Having grown up right in the middle of this “golden age,” it is obvious, and alarming, that we’re facing the first real era of widespread, active (meaning not hidden, but out in the open), antisemitism in my lifetime. Personally, I will NEVER shrink from being outwardly Jewish. I actually wear my Magen David (Star of David) even more (and just as obviously as I Walt’s have). I don’t think there is any way of reversing this. Americans are unprecedentedly ignorant of history, and the left has made the calculation that the demographics are in its favor of it ignores, or outright expresses hatred for, Jews. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are exhibits A and B. The right has also made it clear that it will accept Jew haters as long as they agree with them ideologically. Lastly, the Jewish community, with the critical exception of Chabad, as totally failed to educate the last three generations, and has replaced genuine Jewish knowledge with its version of liberalism (which is actually leftism, and almost always at odds with actual Judaism). We also need more articles like this one, and Jewish organizations with some actual courage.

Yes, yes and yes. This is exactly correct. As antisemitism has risen, I’ve been told more frequently than ever before that I “don’t understand” what minorities go through, because of my “white (or male) privilege.” That’s absolutely crazy, and I mean that literally, when the person you are talking to is Jewish.

We are the minority of minorities. We have been a minority everywhere we’ve been for millennia. Only since 1948 do we have a home. And we suffer everywhere we go. No matter how good a place is, how comfortable, how much we can thrive, each place always turns into a place of suffering for us. That isn’t melodrama: it’s history. So yes. We do have a talk too. Our talk is to remind our children that we are strangers and to live as Jews, means always being different. Personally, I am 100% ok with that. Like all Jews though, I’ve experienced what that means. Especially lately. I saw this originally on Facebook. The author calls herself “Jew in the City” and I highly recommend following her. I would love to have her on Moptu. However, the comments on this article were heartbreaking. Jews all over the United States are removing mezuzahs from their homes, they are scared to wear a Magen David (Star of David), take their kippahs off in public. The kind of stuff that everyone in the late 20th century was sure had been related to the last. But history teaches us that, when you’re Jewish, NOTHING is related to the past.

“I realized recently, with the uptick in antisemitic attacks and anti-Jewish content being shared online, and the tepid response the world has to it (despite being outraged when any other minority is mistreated), that many gentiles don’t understand the Jewish experience well enough. I ended up choosing this article because its focus had a huge influence on my life. “This Is My G-d,” which my mom have me when I was 15, it was an original copy that she had owned, was my first real glimpse of traditional Judaism. It ended up being the first step in my education about my own religion and culture and had a huge impact on my life. Then I read the “Caine Mutiny” and most of his other books. I wanted to meet him but never had the chance. Amazingly, he released his most recent book not that long ago. I was reading about it recently, and was happily surprised to find out about it. He will be missed.
