Are Plastic Bag Bans Garbage? : Planet Money : NPR

A national movement to ban plastic bags is gaining steam, but these restrictions may actually hurt the environment more than help it.

I CALLED THIS ONE! Plastic bag bans are a SCAM. Not only is it obvious that they don't lessen environmental impact, because there is always an environmental factor involved in producing or recycling literally anything, but, and the article doesn't fully acknowledge this, the whole thing was an excuse for cities to take even more money from people in the form of the "environmental tax" on plastic bags. They exploit concerns about the environment to manipulate people. I don't know how that's not extremely clear to people at this point.
