Seventy six years ago my father came home fro World War 2 and was told that he could y enroll in Brooklyn College because they had a quota on the number of Jews allowed in the school and they had reached that quota. He eventually found his way in-but it was DESPITE the rampant antisemitism of the time. Its 2022 and nothing has changed. Things did get better. For a while. Now we’re in the same morass that we were in then-the only difference is that the perpetrators tend to look different these days. We’ve always been hated by the left and the right. It’s unquestionable that today the vast majority of antisemitism comes from the left, almost ALL of it couched in the language of being “anti-Israel” or “anti-Zionist.” Those are the excuses. However, it’s all the same thing. When it was bad to be white, we were deemed not white. Now the left believes that whiteness is bad, they’ve decided that we’re white. I’m totally sick of it. The time has come to fight back.

That’s typical leftist rhetoric. How anyone can be Jewish and naive enough to believe that this isn’t the exact same language used to denigrate us throughout history is beyond me. If anyone on the right, let alone people on virtually every single college campus, said that - they would be, correctly, endlessly condemned. The Jewish community needs to stop picking its battles based on politics.

Thirty years ago, anti-Semitic mobs plundered the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn for three days, chanting Nazi slogans, destroying Jewish homes and businesses, and lynching a young Jewish seminary student.

I had friends in Crown Heights sitting on the steps in front of their homes with shotguns to protect their families. One of the instigators of the riots, and the man partially responsible for the murder of Yankel Rosenbaum, is now a host on MSNBC and was/is a frequent guest of the Obamas. Evans might have pointed out that Chassidim in Kiryas Yoel (an all-Chassidic town) make perfectly average incomes, despite a near common-consensus by outsiders to the contrary.”

I've spent lots of time in some of the neighborhoods that have been affected, particularly in Crown Heights. These attacks aren't being taken seriously by NY politicans, the media, and the public because 1. These are Jews 2. These are mostly Hassidic Jews 3. And this is the main one: it doesn't fit those politicians political narrative. Therefore law enforcement is doing next to nothing. Hassidic Jews are "white" (according the left's ridiculous definition of that term) and overwhelmingly conservative, add that to the endemically antisemitic views held by many of these same people and their reaction has been a near total non reaction. They only care about the "minorities" that they can exploit.
