The grand opening of Du-par’s newest location in Encino happens next week, and to celebrate the diner will be offering 1938—the year the chain was founded—prices. Their famous Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Hotcakes, the recipe for which hasn’t changed in 30 years and is locked in a Farmers’ Market safe, will go for 25 cents, and hamburgers will only cost 20 cents. If you’re still hungry, you can even cap your meal off with a 15-cent slice of fruit pie and 5-cent coffee.
