What ‘This Is My God’ meant to traditional Jews in mid-century America.
I wanted to post this earlier but wasn’t happy about posting about the loss of my favorite novelist and author. I ended up choosing this article because its focus had a huge influence on my life. “This Is My G-d,” which my mom have me when I was 15, it was an original copy that she had owned, was my first real glimpse of traditional Judaism. It ended up being the first step in my education about my own religion and culture and had a huge impact on my life. Then I read the “Caine Mutiny” and most of his other books. I wanted to meet him but never had the chance. Amazingly, he released his most recent book not that long ago. I was reading about it recently, and was happily surprised to find out about it. He will be missed.
