Chicago City Planners Say Obama Library Will Hurt Community, Obama Staffers 'Pleased' Anyway

Barack Obama might not be as popular in his hometown as he thought.

Having spent many years in Chicago with Jackson Park as my "backyard," I understand the objections to Obama's library taking 20 acres of the park. The park was always an oasis in the city for those who lived on the South Side of Chicago. It was the playground for children, the walkway to the Lake, and a lovely place to relax. The insensitivity to "his" community is another example of Obama's insensitivity to the communities' needs and the obsessive narcissism of this man.
