I’m going to miss him. I never got to meet him, but for a long time, he has reminded me of my Brooklyn born dad. They were similar types in many ways. He was obviously a great actor, but also a huge supporter of Jewish causes and Israel. They once asked him what he would do if someone asked him to boycott Israel. His response is great, and if anyone ever asks me the same question, this will now be my response:

“Asked in 2016 if anyone had ever suggested he should boycott the country, he replied in characteristically forceful style: ‘They would have gotten punched in the face. No, I don't hang around with antisemites if that's what you mean and I don't know any. And if I did, I'd punch them in the face.’”
