Boehner has already nominated himself as the Republican Party's sacrificial lamb. But on his way out, he could also be a very effective scapegoat, thus sparing both his party and the country at large a whole lot of needless drama and economic instability

I agree. The GOP is in chaos. Not that I want them to get it together, but this is a good way to make it happen.

Boehner did a fantastic job during the administrations of the most liberal president in American history. I have yet to encounter a single Tea Party type who actually understand what Boehner accomplished. Was he perfect? No. Did he get a hell of a lot done under VERY difficult circumstances? Yes.
