I have no respect, AT ALL, for the ADL - but the data is the data. I also don't believe that the "number" of Americans who believe antisemitic stereotypes has drastically risen, I think that most of these people already believed in the stereotypes, but feel much more comfortable publicly admitting it, which is, in some ways, far worse. The reason that being a Jew hater is so much more acceptable is that the left is race obsessed (even thought they laughably deny it), but consider Jews "white." So when it was good to be white, we weren't white (ask the Nazis), but now that being white is "bad," they deem us white, and apply every (imaginary) egregious facet of "whiteness" to Jews (and often greatly magnify those negative qualities).

Either way, there is ZERO doubt that antisemitism in America is drastically more common than anyone believed before.

James Baldwin, Ye, and the Lesson the Jews Will Not Learn

The Baldwin theory of black antisemitism is that it's really anti-whiteness. The NY Times gave him 3820 words to say so in 1967.

Black antisemitism is, in many ways, the most virulent form of Jew hatred in America. It is also one of the most widespread. While all blacks don’t hate Jews, large numbers do, while the rest of that community largely remains silent. It is no coincidence that the vast, vast number of violent attacks on Jews are carried out by blacks. But liberals, and the media, ignore that fact because it is in direct opposition to their narrative. Blacks can’t be racists because only “whites,” which Jews are only labeled when the label is negative, can be racists. So falsely claiming that Jews are white makes them, to leftists, the aggressors. It is just a bigger trope shared by white supremacists (the real kind-not the modern liberal/democrat fantasy), Islamist Arabs, and antisemitic blacks. The Jewish community should have learned DECADES ago that while the Jewish instinct to find commonality with blacks is genuine, that impulse isn’t reciprocated by large numbers of blacks. If we’re going to really fight antisemitism-we have to be honest about ALL of its sources. That means being honest about, and acknowledging, black antisemitism. So add James Baldwin to the list with Alice Walker, Kanye West, Barack Obama (yes, Barack Obama), Kyrie Irving, and all of the other prominent people in the black community who continually get a pass for their obvious anti-Jewish bigotry.

I agree with a lot of this. I think it’s naive to continue to believe that “Goldberg” (her name is Caryn Johnson) really doesn’t know that the Holocaust was about race. At her age-that seems completely absurd. As Jews, we need to stop giving the benefit of the doubt so freely to those who hate us. No one in the media is willing to state the obvious. It’s most likely that “Goldberg” just hates Jews.
