I think a lot of this list is BS. Of course they are essentially required to talk about the diversity, the social messages, blah blah blah. What is missing from this list, is that this show was the best of the Star Trek Series because. 1. It is, by far, the most entertaining 2. It is the only iteration where the men behave like men (with the possible exception of Riker in TNG) 3. The liberalism of the show is NOT leftism, an important distinction. The shows now are merely vehicles for the leftist propaganda du jour. The shows exist to relentlessly propagandize, not to entertain. The massive drop in the quality of the shows makes that obvious. "Discovery" is, for example, totally unwatchable. It is the Mother Jones/NY Times of science fiction. That has been increasingly true of every show since TNG. Kirk knew that is something was a danger: it needed killing. There wasn't elndless hand-wringing about "sentient life forms." Plus - the crew drank and actually liked women, even Sulu! The female crew were there for their brains and their looks. 4, The original series had humor, something missing from the newer shows because, again, they are leftist propaganda - and leftists have no sense of humor. 5. The show just looked better. They had style, vs. the cold, drab, colorless look of the later series. It went from colorful, bright, and optimistic, to increasingly looking more like the drab, dystopian, Apple HQ type look favored by Marxists, it's basically a higher tech version of East Germany in space. 6. The original series crew was a better set of actors. The new shows are staffed by the typical group of shrill, leftists scolds. Which is great is you like being lectured to for a an hour (by angry, condescending, feminists and emasculated pseudo-men - but hey, it's all great because they are "diverse"!)
