I couldn’t agree more. The more secular Jewish community has spent 70 years saying “never again,” without spending that time teaching Jews what it means to be Jewish. Organizations like the ADL, the Federations, the National Council of Jewish Women and on and on and on have replaced Jewish identity in the United States with something that resembles American leftism more than anything authentically Jewish. That philosophy has an extremely distorted version of “tikkun olam” at its core. They then combine that with “Holocaust education” to justify participating in every imaginable left wing cause, often, sadly, even those that are anti-Israel, and sometimes even anti-Jewish. It is destructive and is one reason why the secular American Jewish world has utterly failed at inspiring people to live Jewish lives.

We have to fight antisemitism by fighting back, and not by repeating tired cliches and phrases. We have to inspire Jews by teaching them about Judaism and our history. Holocaust education is important, but it is only one part of that. We also have to accept that teaching the world about the Holocaust isn’t going to make them like us any more, or less, than they do now. Strength and conviction accomplish far more than conversations, memos, and everything else that the organized secular Jewish bureaucracy has been pretending (for decades) is effective.

The total lack of recognition of “Jewish” as a separate ethnic identity (as opposed to the ridiculous and dishonest ideas of “white Jews” or “Jews of color”) is part of the reason why both are happening. Bigoted Jewish stereotypes are becoming normalized (again) because there is very little being taught that is authentically Jewish. The result is ignorance.

I am SO sick of Holocaust revisionism and revisionists. Hitler placed dozens of camps in Poland because he knew that the Poles were even more antisemitic than the Germans. There were pogroms in Poland AFTER the Holocaust. So the idea that the poor Poles were also unwitting victims of the Nazis is absolutely false. Poland’s history of vehement and disgusting antisemitism goes back centuries.
