The Most Famous Corner in Town: Beverly Glen and Ventura

James Dean filled his Porsche Spyder up with gas on the final afternoon of his life at "Casa De Petrol." At the same corner, Casa De Cadillac.

I have been going to a different gas station on this corner ("Unocal," what used to be "Union"), since the 70s when I would go with my parents. A little known fact is that one corner was the edge of a corn field and kids (like my mom) would get fresh grilled corn there after school in the 50s! In fact, the entire few blocks where "Hamburger Hamlet" is now was a corn field!
